Au Carrefour de L’Europe is an NGO established in January 2019, bringing together a community of dedicated youth workers, volunteers, and like-minded individuals. United by a passion for non-formal education, the organization aims to share both personal and professional experiences. With a strong vision for societal progress, the NGO strives to foster positive change through non-formal education, sports, arts, and outdoor activities.
Central to their mission is the promotion of essential values such as equality, freedom, inclusion, and sustainable development. By engaging in intercultural exchanges, Au Carrefour de L’Europe seeks to cultivate healthy attitudes, encourage volunteering, celebrate diverse cultures, and actively contribute to environmental conservation. With a commitment to shaping the next generation’s outlook, the organization envisions a future characterized by cooperation, understanding, and holistic growth.
Operating in France’s overseas territories, Au Carrefour de L’Europe extends its influence where the sun never sets on French soil. These territories, scattered across the world’s oceans, provide abundant potential for exploration. The organization recognizes the significance of fostering the European spirit and citizenship in these regions. This commitment is deemed vital not only for the prosperity of France but also for the collective well-being of the European Union.
Since January 2020, Au Carrefour de L’Europe has established a subsidiary in Reunion Island and set up an office in L’Étang-Salé. The address of the office in Reunion Island is 4, rue Franck Camille Cadet, ZIE Les Sables, 97427. This physical presence underscores the organization’s dedication to bridging distances and promoting its mission in these distant locales.
The organization is highly involved in working with youth, its members and volunteers being students and young people actively involved in community life. We contribute to shaping a harmonious life perspective for young people through non-formal education, and having a friendly approach to the issues of employability among young people and through activities and projects on environmental protection. The main values that we promote are equal opportunities, active citizenship, team spirit, tolerance, respect and care for the environment. Through these activities we determine and stimulate young people to volunteer, we stimulate the motivation of young people to protect nature and form an appropriate ecological behavior through planting activities, thus imprinting ecological and civic behavior.
Our target group is young people 16-30 years old from Paris and from overseas territories. Regarding vulnerable groups and young people with fewer opportunities, we work directly with overseas young people without financial possibilities and that have never been to continental Europe.
Key activities – social and professional inclusion of fewer opportunities for youngsters and supporting the environment by promoting sustainable development. We also activate in the overseas territories of France, as we believe in promoting the European spirit and citizenship in those territories is crucial for the well being of France and the European Union.
We are convinced that in the future the opportunities offered by the new Erasmus+ project can make a difference within our field of activity and can generate a positive impact both upon young people and our organisation, and upon the community, contributing thus to their long-term development.
